The new paved trail at Longwood Park is officially open! ✂️🎀

A small crowd gathered for a ceremonial ribbon-cutting this evening, with Mayor Nick Molnar, Parks & Rec Director Pete Eckendorf, and Parks & Rec Commission Council Rep Jessica Brandt all giving brief remarks about the planning that went into the trail project.

After the ribbon was cut, folks hit the trail to make the inaugural 1.04-mile lap. The asphalt surface allows for bicycles, strollers, wheelchairs and pedestrians — making it accessible to everyone.
