As the weather warms up, it’s a great time to give your yard some attention — and stay in compliance with the City’s Noxious Weeds Ordinance.
City Code requires all property owners to keep their land free of weeds, tall grass, and harmful plants classified as prohibited noxious weeds. Here’s what you need to know:
✔️ If your property is found in violation, you’ll receive a written notice and have 72 hours to take care of it.
✔️ If the issue isn’t addressed, the City will handle the work and bill the property owner for the cost plus an administrative fee.
✔️ Repeat violations will result in larger fines and fees.
This ordinance is mainly aimed at repeat violations — not residents whose grass may be temporarily long due to vacation, illness, or other circumstances. Read the code here: https://codelibrary.amlegal.com/codes/macedonia/latest/macedonia_oh/0-0-0-12917
